C-Squared Professional Services Group, LLC (C2PSG) was founded in
2004 as a network of consultants and consulting firms organized to
help businesses handle the growing demands placed upon IT.
With IT evolution to a sub-business of the larger corporation, the
old methods for serving IT need to change. It no longer
suffices to provide niche services. In the future, IT
consultants and service providers needed to understand IT as a
business with a holistic approach to the impact of the services they
provide.
IT Change Drivers
A number of factors are descending upon IT management at the same
time to force huge changes in the way IT does business and in the
way IT service vendors and consultants assist IT organizations.
These factors include:
- IT is becoming a service provider and IT's customers expect
more. IT customer's expect IT to deliver its services
quickly, reliably, and with simplicity so no special skills are
required by service users. IT customers don't care about
all the complexity and problems IT has to deal with, they just
want things to work. This requires a system of processes,
automation, controls, and reporting to exceed service level
requirements and to prove compliance with customer demands.

- Today's workforce can be anywhere in the world and they may
work for a sub-contractor of a sub-contractor so you don't even
know who they are, who they work for, or that they work for you.
This makes it more difficult to manage, control, and to ensure
security of your IT data that may be the life blood of your
company. IT needs consultants who can help them design
processes and controls to mitigate the risk of the modern
workforce.
- Government regulations and corporate governance are placing
external demands on IT. Government regulations that impact
IT processes and managed data have exploded in recent years.

- IT management software is becoming increasingly

computing, and data center federation. These require new

reduction in IT budgets. That can only be accomplished
